Since our arrival to Qatar, we have been constantly admiring and appreciating a nation that uphold good family values and traditions incorporated with deep faith within the community. Rules and customs of accumulated years have shaped the unique identity of each individual, which made us respect it and love it and get inspired by it.
We realize that the principles of life come from those values transmitted from generation to generation, and together with a refuge that never leaves us, the faith of our beliefs are accompanied by blessed feasts that strengthen the union between us and between the families. We dedicate ourselves to reading about a new culture that we got to know, surprised by everything it contains; becoming part of this walkthrough lands where we were not born but lived those pleasant memories.
A very important aspect that we continue to observe with the greatest respect which was what the feasts of a religion that originated from the prophet Ibrahim, with thousands of years of history, entailed.
We were able to understand those two great festivities that the Islamic lunar calendar determines, and in which two Eid festive stand out: Eid Al Fitr and “after Ramadan” and Eid Al Adha.
Comprehend the tradition in the sense of transmitting customs, and ways of life, became part of our culture; that required the persistence and the ability to maintain it throughout the different generations.
Religious festivals have sustenance in that heritage that is based on the existence of a God, and his presence which enriches and strengthen the soul with unconditional faith.
In Qatar, the festivities have always filled us with joy among all family’s reunion and the sharing of simple yet precious details that fulfill Eid days with love and respect and to also help those in need, do charity work and put a smile on every child by gifting him a toy or simply give them pocket money to buy chocolate and sweets.
As Eid Al-Adha approaches, we look forward to the music and laughter that embraces every house which gives meaning to life; a reason for all families to gather and strengthen those bonds that are so fundamental in all societies.
In addition, we will also be able to see unique exhibitions and taste typical and traditional dishes on this occasion in a country as generous as Qatar; accompanied by prayers that consolidate our everyday future, that space that is needed in a world that demands coexistence among the nations. We will listen to the people who have lived the longest and who will transmit messages of peace to us by sharing their experiences and knowledge to their kids and grandkids.
This Eid, which will be celebrated within the upcoming days, will be a reason to commemorate the remembered “Festival of the Sacrifice”, which was a test of the Prophet Ibrahim loyalty and obeyance to the one and only God, who commands and orders our lives.
According to the traditional part of this celebration of Eid, it is a privilege to present our greetings and sincere wishes on this occasion to the Amir, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, along with the diplomatic corps and high authorities and his people, how being a charismatic and brilliant leader of this nation.
We greatly admire that simple Arabic word “Insha'Allah” that contains an immense message “God willing” or Alhamdulillah which means “Thank God”.
Allow me to express my best wishes of happiness on behalf of my family to all the Qatari people a happy Eid Al Adha.
