Doha, Qatar: Studio 5/6, affiliated to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology collaborated with the Youth Committee of Al Gharafa Sports Club, under the Ministry of Sports and Youth, to transform the digital landscape for Qatari youth through innovative technology training workshops.
These workshops were part of the “Our Gharrafi Summer” camp at Al Gharafa Sports Club. The initiative inspired and empowered participants aged 7 to 10 years by engaging them in a world where creativity, programming, and sports intersect.
By merging technology and sports, the workshops “Robot Soccer” and “Digital Triathlon” have enhanced critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and teamwork. The significance of having developed and enhanced these skills was evident as a role in shaping future leaders.
In announcing this collaboration, Noof Abdulaziz Al Haddad, Projects Coordinator at the Digital Community Affairs Sector in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in Qatar, stated that the workshop spanned four days, divided into two parts.
Participants in the first part of the workshop learned skills that enable them to design a digital character. This section of the workshop also included a triathlon competition involving swimming, running, and cycling. After the first part of the workshop, a competition was held among all participants to apply and test the skills they have learned in real-world scenarios. The second part of the workshop focused on teaching participants to connect robots with sensors.
It is worth noting that the collaboration between Studio 5/6 and the Youth Committee of Al-Gharafa Sports Club represents a united vision to shape a skilled and innovative youth community.
