Doha, Qatar: The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) has reinforced its efforts to enhance national cybersecurity capabilities by delivering specialised training programmes focused on cybersecurity policy management and information protection standards.
Represented by its Cyber Security Policies and Strategies Department, the agency yesterday held the 13th edition of its Policy Management training course.
On X, the agency said that the programme was designed to enhance participants’ knowledge and strengthen their competencies in cybersecurity by providing a comprehensive understanding of policy management across the entire policy lifecycle.
The course covered the various types of cybersecurity policies, introduced participants to different policy instruments, and provided practical guidance on how to develop and implement them effectively to support sound cybersecurity governance.
Individuals also explored best practices for aligning cybersecurity policies with organisational objectives, regulatory requirements, and evolving threat landscapes.
Through case studies and practical exercises, NCSA stated that participants gained insights into policy development methodologies, governance structures, and implementation strategies that help entities establish robust cybersecurity frameworks.
The training also highlighted the importance of continuous policy review and improvement to ensure companies remain prepared to address emerging cyber risks and technological advancements.
In a separate initiative, the NCSA conducted the 12th training course on the National Data Classification Policy and the National Information Assurance Standard Implementation.
The programme aimed to build participants’ expertise in data classification in accordance with the National Data Classification Policy Version 3.0, while also equipping them with the knowledge to secure information assets in line with the National Information Assurance Standard Version 2.1.
Attendees received practical training on developing, implementing and maintaining information security management processes and systems aligned with both national frameworks. The course emphasised a structured and practical approach to reinforcing information security practices and ensuring compliance with Qatar’s national cybersecurity standards.
The training further addressed risk assessment methodologies, information asset management, and the implementation of security controls designed to safeguard sensitive and critical data.
Participants were introduced to practical approaches for identifying, classifying and protecting information based on its sensitivity and business value, while ensuring consistent application of national standards across their organisations.
The sessions also encouraged collaboration and knowledge sharing among professionals from different sectors, supporting the development of a stronger national cybersecurity ecosystem.
The training programmes form part of the NCSA’s ongoing efforts to build institutional cybersecurity capacity, promote the adoption of national cybersecurity frameworks, and support firms in enhancing their resilience against evolving cyber threats.
