DOHA: A media delegation had a glimpse of 2015 Qatar Summer Festival ahead of its official opening tomorrow, at Doha Exhibition Centre.
The festival throughout August is expected to drive up regional tourism numbers with new attractions, including cultural events and brand promotions, said Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) which organised the ‘Press Preview’.
It will also feature shows to suit different age groups and tastes — from open-air public displays, theatre and classical concerts to comedy, films and popular Eastern and Western musical performances.
Qatar’s hospitality and retail sectors will be engaged in ensuring the success of festivities.
Special offers will be available from many top hotels for visitors, paired with highly competitive fares on Qatar Airways regional routes to ensure Doha ranks as the preferred summer destination for families from the Gulf.
Special prices will be offered on top brands in fashion, accessories, watches, jewellery, electronics and much more by participating outlets.
QTA has also partnered with 26 hospitality industry brands.
Hotel partners have developed special packages for visitors, including offers to stay for three nights by paying for two and for six nights in hotel apartments by paying for five, according to officials.
Additional incentives, including 50 percent discounts on food and beverage, will be offered by outlets within hotels, free meals for children (up to three per family), free breakfast, late check-outs and a free shuttle service between some hotels.
The offers are also available to residents booking for the same period. The Peninsula
