DOHA: The Qatar Olympic football team, also known as the Under-23 football team, will travel to Scotland today to play three friendly matches during their 10-day summer training camp.
The camp will be held till August 10, according to Qatar Olympic Committee.
The Qatar Under-23 team will play its first friendly on August 3 with Scottish Premier League club Dundee United, the second with a local team on August 6 and the third with an Albanian team on August 8.
The Qatar Olympic football team is under the supervision of coach Fahad Thani.
The training camp in Scotland is part of the Olympic football team’s preparations for a number important tournaments scheduled this year.
Qatar will host the GCC Under-23 Championship starting in August, followed by the Asian Games tournament to be held from September 19 to October 5.
In January 2015, the Qatar International Football Friendship Tournament will kick off while the Asian Zone qualifying rounds for the Brazil Olympics will be held from May 23 to 31 next year.
The Qatar Olympic squad comprises of Allal Mohammed (Al Khor), Ahmed Fathi, Omar Al Emadi (Al Arabi), Nasser Khalfan, Ali Mohamed (Lekhwiya), Ahmed Fadel (Al Wakra), Ahmed Alaa, Abdul Majeed Enad, Abdulrahman Al Karbi, Nasser Al Kaabi, Mohamed Alaa, Abdul Hameed Enad, Ibrahim Dami, Saud Al Farhan (Al Rayyan), Faisal Ghuloom (Qatar Sports Club), Osman Al Yahri (Al Gharafa), Mohammed Shaban, Abdul Rahman Al Harazi, Fahad Breik (Al Saliyah) Ali Qadri, Abdul Rahman Jassim, Satei Al Abbasi (Al Ahli), Muhannad Naim (Al Sadd).
