DOHA: The Social Studies Section of the Educational Guidance Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education concluded its annual activities with a ceremony to showcase its achievements and honour the distinguished.
The ceremony, which took place at the Ministry’s building, was attended by Maha Zayed Al Qaqaa Al Ruwaili, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs, several members of the Educational Guidance Department, and a large number of parents and students.
Maryam Al Numan, Director of the Educational Guidance Department, took the stage to deliver a heartfelt speech. She warmly welcomed the attendees and expressed her profound happiness and pride in the student’s achievements during the academic year. Al Numan acknowledged the collective efforts that led to these successes, underscoring the pivotal role of social studies in understanding and developing society.
The ceremony included a brief film on the most critical activities of the Social Studies Department and presentations of students’ experiences in activities and competitions. Noura Jaber Al-Marri, a student from Al Falah Primary School for Girls, presented her experience in the “My Heritage is My Identity” competition.
Al Dana Jassim Al Jassmi, a student from Granada Preparatory School for Girls, also offered her participation in the Electronic Glossary competition. Student Saud Hassan Aqeel from Hassan Bin Thabet Secondary School for Boys presented his experience with (Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani Competition for Scientific Excellence). Reem Al Khulaifi, a student from Al Wakra Secondary School for Girls, presented her experience in the “Towards Sustainability” competition. All the presentations were admired by the attendees, who expressed their appreciation for the efforts made and the high level of work presented.
At the end of the ceremony, the participants were honoured, and prizes and certificates of appreciation were distributed to 39 of the winning students in the various competitions organised by the department throughout the academic year.
The honouring also included sponsoring schools represented by Al Falah Primary School for Girls, Granada Preparatory School for Girls, Al Wakra Secondary School for Girls, and Hassan Bin Thabet Secondary School for Boys. These schools have supported the department’s activities and contributed to their success.
The honoured students expressed their gratitude for the support and guidance provided by the department, noting that these awards will be an incentive for them to further excellence.
This ceremony is the culmination of a full year of hard work and dedication and a clear message that hard work and diligence always yield positive results.
