Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) and Pakistan Welfare Forum (PWF) under Embassy of Pakistan to Qatar will host charity gala dinner for expatriate community to collect donations for expatriate students who are unable to go to school due to financial problems.
Phase-I project “Allimhum” (teach them) will focus on students who are lagging behind by one year from their age of schooling followed by other students with delay in schooling. They will be supported to get enrolled.
The campaign will help reduce the cases of school-dropout especially the basic education for the children of expatriates who are unable to afford the expenses of schools for their children.
According to a survey conducted by RAF in collaboration with its partners Ezdan Mall and Pakistan expatriate community, creating educational opportunity for a student for a year costs QR7,200.
The beneficiary students will be rehabilitated to get ready for enrolling in the classes as per their ages and they will be followed up throughout the year.
“PWF has been organising various educational programmes for expatriate children for past five years," said Ahmad Husain from Pakistan Community.
“The move aims at creating equal educational opportunity for all expatriates community in Qatar, especially the deprived children from Pakistan expatriate community in the country,” Husain added.
“The beneficiary students will be enrolled in primary school of PWF whereby they will be provided opportunity of learning through a comprehensive programme that will enable them to get admission in the formal education system.”
“Likewise, we will launch programmes for adult students and those schools dropped out with the support of charity organisations and donors,” said Husain.
“I hope that RAF-PWF partnership will strengthen and expand this educational programme to make benefit maximum number of students deprived from education,” he added.
