DOHA: The Supreme Education Council (SEC) has issued unified administrative guidelines for Independent schools which entail Qatarisation of all non-specialised jobs in these schools.
The schools are also required to increase the number of Qatari employees every year.
The guidelines include job specifications for all Independent school staff as well as the administrative hierarchy.
The SEC has asked all schools to define the job and the duties and responsibilities of every employee to avoid duplication.
The schools are not permitted to remove an existing position or add a new position without written approval from the Education Institute at SEC.
As per the guidelines, all the schools must comply with the SEC’s policies related to staff recruitment. The student-teacher ratio in the schools should be maintained at one teacher for every 10 students.
The schools have to appoint coordinators for subjects including science, mathematics, Islamic studies, social science, English language and information technology. There must be seven to nine coordinators at the primary and preparatory levels, and nine to 10 coordinators at the secondary level.
