Oryx Rotana joined the rest of the world to celebrate Earth Hour. The hotel switched off their lights in hotel exteriors, some of the back-of-the-house areas and guest room corridors whereas public areas’ and restaurants’ lights were dimmed. Guests were encouraged to participate by turning off the lights in their guestrooms. A couple of initiatives were also implemented by employees through a candlelight dinner at staff cafeteria, calculation of energy units saved during the event and an awareness video for this year’s Earth Hour.
