Doha, Qatar: The State of Qatar on Saturday welcomed the Syrian government's announcement of reaching a ceasefire agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) as part of a comprehensive arrangement.
The agreement includes an understanding on the phased integration of military and administrative forces between the two sides.
The Ministry of Foreign Affaris that that “Qatar commends the effective efforts of the friendly United States of America, which contributed to reaching this agreement.”
The Ministry expressed the State of Qatar's hope that the agreement will contribute to consolidating civil peace and enhancing security and stability in the brotherly Syrian Arab Republic.
It reiterated that Syria's stability and prosperity require the state to hold a monopoly on the use of force through a single army that represents all Syrian components, thereby ensuring the preservation of the country's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.
The Ministry also reaffirmed the State of Qatar's full support for Syria's sovereignty and unity, as well as the aspirations of its brotherly people for stability, development, and prosperity.
