The original production of acclaimed Broadway musical ‘Cats’, one of the main features of Shop Qatar festival in its final week, opens tonight at the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC) Theatre.
The show promises to take the audience in a magical journey through spectacular set designs, stunning costumes and breath-taking choreography which have mesmerised more than 73 million people in over 300 cities around the world.
There are six shows from tonight till Saturday and in celebration of the festival, the organisers are offering a buy 1 get 1 promotion on select ticket categories . Apart from ‘Cats’, a diverse lineup of events are scheduled in the last seven days of Shop Qatar including make-up tutorials, fashion show, fun outdoor activities, and the Doha Comedy Festival.

Free live make-up tutorials by beauty experts from Guerlain also kicks off today at 11am and 6pm at the Guerlain counter in Salam Showroom at The Gate Mall. The free demos will also be held same time tomorrow and at 4pm on Friday.
Fashion aficionados will be treated to a diverse collection of 100 designs by 15 designers, most of whom are Qataris, in a fashion show tomorrow night at the Lagoona Mall Piazza. There will be a red carpet event at 7pm prior to the show which will feature a live string quartet performance. Entry to the fashion show is free of charge however, children under the age of 12 will not be allowed at the event.
The Doha Comedy Festival will begin tomorrow with comedians from the Arab world. It will be followed by Khaliji Night on Friday featuring the Gulf’s top comedians, and an International Night on Saturday with The Daily Show host Trevor Noah. While tickets to the final show have sold out, those for the first two shows are still on sale through Virgin Megastores.
Weekend outdoor activities will be held again nightly starting tomorrow until Saturday. Courtesy of Katara Hospitality, the Hotel Park by the Corniche is hosting family-friendly activities, including four daily screenings of Siraj, Qatar Foundation’s new 3D animation ‘edutainment’ TV series (6.30pm, 7.30pm, 8.30pm and 9.30pm), and a fireworks display at 8pm in addition to Arda dance, painters comedy show and musical parades. A variety of local delicacies and snacks will be sold by members of the Bedaya Center and food trucks at the venue.
