Doha, Qatar: Under the aegis of Bazm-e-Urdu Qatar — one of the oldest Urdu institutions in Qatar — the release of the annual mujalla, Tevar, was held on Friday, October 24, 2025, in Al Wakrah.

A grand Mushaira was also organized, wherein, along with Urdu, Hindi poetry was also given a platform.

The Mushaira was coordinated and conducted by Raqeem Azmi, Deputy General Secretary of Bazm-e-Urdu Qatar, in a befitting manner. The chairman of the program, renowned poet Dr. Nadeem Jilani Danish, said in his speech, “The positive effect of Mushaira is spreading in a pleasant way. A beautiful confluence of Hindi and Urdu languages was seen here.”

The Chief Guest, Sheikh Tanveer Ahmed, delivered the welcome address.

The Guest of Honour was Poet Samreen Nadeem Samar, who is giving a new perspective to Urdu through her poems and prose works.

Published under the editorial supervision of Dr. Bismil Arfi and Ahmad Ashfaq, Bazm-e-Urdu’s annual publication Tevar occupies an important place in Urdu literature, introducing readers to the beauty and diversity of the language.

The program started with Tilawat-e-Quran, presented by Atif Azmi in a melodious voice. Ahmad Ashfaq Bazmee, General Secretary of Bazm-e-Urdu Qatar, was responsible for the initial proceedings and enlivened the atmosphere with his soothing voice.

In the Mushaira, the poets and poetesses who participated included Mohammed Mushiruddeen, Ajmal Bishmih, Mamnun Ahmad Bangash, Mansi Sharma, Azfar Girdezi, Vinita Rathor, Tahiti Jameel, Vandana Raj, Raqeem Azmi, Raza Hussain Raza, Athar Azmi, Ashfaque Deshmukh, Kaisar Masood, Ashif Shafi, Mansoor Azmi, Ahmad Ashfaque, Nadeem Mahir, Ateek Anzar, and Samreen Nadeem Samar.
