Al Khor and Al Dakhira Municipality permanently shut down a supermarket for operating without licence.
An inspector from the municipality said that among other violations which have been registered against the supermarket are the absence of health certificates for workers, expired food, and non-compliance with GCC specifications related to food labels.
Some food items were not displayed with space of over 30cm from the ground, he added.
The director of the municipality issued a decision, permanently closing down the supermarket and referred the case to authorities to complete legal procedures.
The Municipality has recently caught about 13 food shops operating without licence.
