Doha, Qatar: Al Duhail and Al Arabi shared the points after an entertaining 1-1 draw, while Al Shahania claimed their first win of the new Qatar Stars League season with a 3-2 victory over Al Sailiya yesterday.
Tuta fired Al Duhail into the lead in the 52nd minute after a gripping first half that saw chances at both ends. Michael Olunga restored parity in the 70th minute to earn Al Arabi a point at Al Bayt Stadium.
Al Duhail, who defeated Al Sailiya in their opening match, are fourth on four points, level with Al Shamal.
Al Sadd and Al Rayyan lead the standings on six points apiece. Al Arabi are seventh after recording their second successive draw.
Boubakary Soumare hit the post as Al Duhail looked for an early breakthrough, while Al Arabi goalkeeper Jasem Al Hail denied Bassem Al Rawi with a fine save from his header following a corner.

Al Duhail shot-stopper Salah Zakaria made several acrobatic saves as Al Arabi threatened to take the lead. He first rose to block Jordan Veretout’s shot from outside the box before showing great alertness to stop Youssef Snana’s effort.
Zakaria then produced another fine save to deny Rodri’s angled shot.
Tuta finally broke the deadlock with a glancing header from Edmilson Junior’s corner, sending the ball into the right corner.
Zakaria, who had otherwise enjoyed a superb game, failed to clear substitute Oussama Tannane’s free-kick, allowing Olunga to comfortably tap the ball past Al Rawi and secure a point for Al Arabi.
Later at Lusail Stadium, Andreas Van Beek headed Al Shahania into an early lead with a clinical finish from a corner.
Francisco Antonucci doubled the advantage in the 23rd minute, converting a penalty after Abdel Aziz Mitwali fouled Mohamed Abdelfatah Surag.
Kellian van der Kaap pulled one back for Al Sailiya in the 51st minute, but Abdoulaye Traore restored Al Shahania’s two-goal lead with a strike six minutes later.
Salem Al-Sufiani’s goal in the fifth minute of stoppage time was not enough as Al Sailiya suffered their second straight defeat, leaving them as the only team yet to pick up a point after two rounds.
Al Shahania, who lost to Al Gharafa in their opening match of the new season, climbed to fifth with three points after their victory. The next QSL round will get underway on Thursday.
