Bryan Cranston picked up the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his unforgettable portrayal of Walter White and the critically-acclaimed series also won the Emmy for Best Drama Series.
Television’s favourite family, more commonly known as Modern Family, took home the Outstanding Comedy Series Award, for the fifth consecutive year, while Ty Burrell, the actor behind the persona of Phil Dunphy, was crowned the Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus was crowned Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, for her portrayal of the Vice President of the United States of America, Selena Meyer, and her reign over her disorderly administration in VEEP.
For the second year in a row The Colbert Report achieved the Outstanding Variety Series award, while the Outstanding Talk Show award went to Ellen Degeneres for her remarkable talk show, The Ellen Degeneres Show.
Washington’s favourite ‘fixing firm,’ Olivia Pope and Associates, depicted in Scandal, scooped the award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series.
