Real Madrid's Asencio to miss start of season with thigh injury

Madrid: Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio is set to miss the start of the La Liga season with a thigh injury.

"He has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the (thigh) of his right leg," said Madrid in a statement on Thursday.

The 23-year-old centre-back will miss between four to six weeks according to Spanish reports.

Jose Mourinho's Madrid kick off their season at Espanyol on August 22 before hosting Real Sociedad on August 26 and Malaga on August 30.
