More than 25.5 tonnes of fresh dates have been sold out during first three days at the second local fresh dates (Rotab) festival -2017’ being held at Souq Waqif. The festival is receiving overwhelming response from visitors.
About 11,000 people- citizens and expatriates have visited the festival during first three days.
The festival is being organised by the agricultural department of at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment in collaboration with Souq Waqif, said a release.
A ten-day festival opened on Thursday is showcasing several verities of fresh dates including Khalas, Shishi, Khanizi and Barhi among others from local farms.
So far, a total of 25.5 toones fresh dates have been sold out — seven tonnes on first day, eight tonnes on second day and 10.5 tonnes on third day-yesterday, said a release.
The festival is receiving overwhelming response from visitors. About 11,000 people- citizens and expertise visited the festival during first three days.
