Three new mosques opened

Doha: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has opened three new mosques that can accommodate a total 4,252 worshippers. The mosques are located in Al Obeib (capacity 1,790), Al Aziziya (1,250) and South Madinat Khalifa (1,212). The three mosques have been equipped with all facilities including residences for imams and muezzins. It is part of the ministry’s plan to double the number of mosques to keep up with population growth in various areas in the country.

Campaign for elderly care

Doha: Qatar Foundation for Elderly People Care (Ihsaan), launches awareness campaign under the name “ Ramadan with elderly” through social media. The campaign aims to aware people about their role towards elderly, and to urge them to do more for elderly care. Jassim Mohamed Al Ammadi, Chairman of Community Awareness Department at Ihsaan, said the campaign contains thirty awareness short messages with 15 seconds each. The Institution sends a message a day through social media (facebook, twitter, YouTube, WhatsApp and Instagram), in addition to Ihsaan official website.


21 violations found at food outlets

Doha: The Doha Municipality conducted 427 inspection tours at various food outlets during the period of June 21-27 and caught 21 violations. Two food facilities in industrial area have been closed. The Municipality also conducted a crackdown against nuts outlets in view of the Garangao celebrations. About sixty food specialists inspectors participate in the campaign.
