Makati Vice Mayor Romulo “Kid” Pena who was sworn into office as acting mayor anew has appealed to beleaguered Makati City Erwin Binay to follow the rule of law.
Pena immediately set up his office at the old city hall, which he also formerly used when he unseatedBinay last March for another suspension order in connection to allegedly overpriced city hall building.
“This is to respect the law and abide by the orders of the Ombudsman and the Department of Interior and Local Government,” he said.
Pena vowed to serve as a fair and honest mayor and services for the constituents will not be hampered.
“I have no reputations of pressuring people, being too personal with anyone or inciting fear to people,” he said.
Pena also appealed for the people’s support and trust, not for himself, but for the welfare of the people.
“I will remain open and trustworthy for this temporary position as local chief executive,” he said.
