Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales dismissed former Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Alan Purisima and 10 other PNP officials for entering into an anomalous courier service contract with Werfast Documentary Agency (Werfast) in 2011.
In a 50-page consolidated decision, Ombudsman Morales found subst antial evidence to hold Purisma and former officials of the PNP Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO) liable for grave misconduct, serious dishonesty and grave abuse of authority
The FEO officials were P/CSupt. Raul Petrasanta, P/CSupt. Napoleon E stilles, P/SSupt. Allan Parreño, P/SSupt. Eduardo Acierto, P/SSupt. Melchor Reyes, P/Supt. Lenbell Fabia, P/CInsp. Sonia Calixto, P/CInsp. Nelson Bautista, P/CInsp. Ricardo Zapata Jr., and P/SInsp. Ford Tuazon liable for Grave Misconduct, Serious Dishonesty and Grave Abuse of Authority.
Aside from dismissal from the service, the respondents also meted forfeiture of retirement benefits, cancellation of eligibility and re-employment in government service were also imposed.
