DOHA: The Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ completed the new Family Consulting Centre building in Al Eqla area, with a total cost of about QR76m.
The Family Consulting Centre offers a variety of free familial services. The project works started in April 2013, and included the construction of three storey in addition to a basement over an area of about 11,000 square metres.
The project is surrounded on the eastern and southern sides by 24 metre wide roads and has a total built-up area of about 19,000 square metres.
The centre consists of three entrances, a counselling and consultation department, a research and development department, an information technology department, a library, a board of directors’ room, human resources and financial department, a lecture hall, and a kindergarten.
The main architectural features include traditional elevations with arches, internal gardens and a central water fountain, a central cafeteria and panoramic area, in addition to a lecture hall with two main chandeliers.
The new centre was designed by United Consultants, and the supervision consultant company for the project was James Cubitt & Partners, while the construction works were implemented by Boom General Contractors.
