LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) extended the judicial remand of Mustafa Kanju for ten days in the murder case of teenager Zain Rauf.

Mustafa Kanju was presented in the ATC upon the expiry of his 14-day judicial remand.

On April 5, police said that Mustafa Kanju had confessed to murdering Zain Rauf during interrogation. According to police Kanju had admitted firing the murder weapons, but claimed that Zain Rauf was not his intended target.

Kanju said that he had neither consumed alcohol nor was he intoxicated during the incident, but had fired the weapon in fury, police claimed.

Police also claimed that Kanju's fingerprints were found on the Kalashnikov rifle — the weapon which claimed Zain's life.
