Mövenpick Hotel West Bay Doha celebrated Earth Hour with 60 minutes of darkness and a special celebration of “Live Green” at the Lime Tree Lobby Lounge on the ground floor.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, the Green Globe certified hotel turned off all unnecessary lights and lit candles to conserve energy as a part of the annual global initiative to reduce greenhouse emissions across the planet.
For that evening, the ground floors at Mövenpick Hotel West Bay Doha featured a “Live Green” area with pillars made from recycled wood and other materials, as a symbol of sustainability. Hotel employees gathered to light candles and commemorated this special evening to honour the environment.
As the property went dark from 8.30pm to 9.30pm, the hotel invited guests to stand for sustainability with General Manager Ghada Sadek and other members of management, and enjoy complimentary fruit shots and ice cream together.
