Birla Public School (BPS) student Mohammed Ali Faisal’s (pictured) film titled Sincerely Bahadur was recently nominated for best picture, best national picture, best cinematography and best story categories at the THIMUN Qatar Northwestern Film Festival held annually in Doha. The THIMUN Qatar Northwestern University Film Festival attracts young filmmakers from around the world.
Mohammed Ali’s film covers the issue of the misery faced by construction workers worldwide from the perspective of Bahadur, a worker, who decides to put an end to his miserable life and writes a letter to his company citing them to be the reason for his death.
“Bringing up the emotional impact of the film and portraying the issue without missing out any of its attributes was the biggest challenge I faced while filming this movie. I wasn’t sure how I could do that with the entire team being beginners. The first day of our shooting saw more of uncertainty rather than action. I had no idea about the editing process until I searched up few tutorials on the web. Thus, lack of experience was another major drawback that I faced during the process of filming. My film getting nominated was one of the most memorable moments of my life as I never had felt so ecstatic in my life.”
