Makkah Al Mukarramah: The Muslim World League welcomed the Sudanese government's peace initiative presented by Sudan's Prime Minister Kamil Idris to the Security Council.
In a statement on Monday, the League's General Secretariat reiterated the urgence of taking immediate steps to implement a swift and comprehensive ceasefire and to allow ample opportunity for life-saving aid to reach all those affected, at this critical stage in which the suffering of the Sudanese people is intensifying.
The League stressed its support for this initiative, and for every effort that contributes to stopping the devastating war that has brought indescribable suffering and tragedies to Sudan.
