Doha, Qatar: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani has reiterated Qatar’s belief that dialogue is essential to building understanding, particularly during times of disagreement.
He made the remarks at CNN International’s third Global Perspectives event in Doha, the first of its kind to be held in the Middle East.
“Gatherings such as this offer a valuable opportunity to bring together people from different backgrounds, industries, and experiences, and to exchange ideas on subjects that increasingly touch all our lives, at a time of profound global change,” he said in his welcoming speech.
“Understanding different perspectives has never been more important.”

“The challenges facing the world are increasingly interconnected and that no single perspective can offer all the answers, reiterating that Qatar has “always believed in dialogue,” the Prime Minister added.
In a social media post, he expressed his pleasure at being able to join the forum that brought different perspectives together. "Pleased to join “Global Perspectives in Doha”, held by CNN for the first time in the Middle East. We support such forums for bringing cultures and perspectives together and opening avenues for constructive dialogue on issues affecting our world, he wrote.
The event is bringing together international leaders, business executives, innovators and cultural figures to discuss the forces shaping the world. Held under the theme 'The Invisible World' the event will explore less visible factors influencing global affairs, including cultural shifts and international influence.
