DOHA: Woqood (Qatar Fuel) is making preparations to build a petrol station with a centre for vehicle technical inspection and other services in Bani Hajar.
The locality has been desperately waiting for a petrol station after one was removed that catered for Bani Hajar and neighbouring areas.
Residents of Bani Hajar had complained several times to authorities over the petrol station.
The petrol station was removed to facilitate development of Bani Hajar-Al Shihaniya Highway, Al Sharq reports.
Mohammad bin Saleh Al Khiyarin, a member of Central Municipal Council (CMC), demanded that Woqood build a petrol station in Bani Hajar to solve daily problems people have been suffering due to lack of such facilities.
“I am happy with the quick response of Woqood to our demand for a new petrol station in the area.
“The nearest petrol station in the area is 10km away,” said Al Khiyarain.
