MSDF, Dreama celebrate achievements, excellence of centre’s children

Doha: Under the patronage and presence of Minister of Social Development and Family H E Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, the Orphan Care Centre (Dreama) celebrated two significant occasions through an event that included an honouring ceremony for outstanding and distinguished children, along with an accompanying art exhibition under the slogan, “Anticipating Every Success to Come.”

The event took place at Hazm Mall, and the accompanying art exhibition will continue for five days. The ceremony was attended by several distinguished ministers, ambassadors, executive directors of the Social Work Foundation centres, and supporting partners.

This ceremony was a special occasion to celebrate the students’ successful completion of the 2023-2024 academic year. The centre honoured the outstanding children in recognition of their academic achievements and excellence in extracurricular activities.

The children were honoured for Quran memorisation, sports, and other activities that contributed to the development of their skills and personalities.

On this occasion, Executive Director of the Orphan Care Centre (Dreama) Sheikha Najla bint Ahmed Al Thani expressed her pride in 20 years of giving and excellence in caring for children. She affirmed that the ceremony was a testament to the ongoing efforts made by the children to achieve success and distinction in various fields.

She extended her gratitude to all the supporters and organisers of this ceremony, who contributed their efforts to make the event successful. “By working together, we continue to build a bright future for our children,” she emphasized.

As for the accompanying art exhibition, it is being held to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Dreama Centre. Local artists and students from Qatar’s schools are participating in the exhibition, showcasing their artworks to support Dreama’s children.

The exhibition aims to bring smiles to the faces of children and foster families and promote the concept of family and foster care, which provides a safe and nurturing environment for growth and development. In this context, the Executive Director of Dreama said, “Our children are our future, and at Dreama, we believe that every child holds within them the seed of excellence. Today, we celebrate their remarkable achievements and strive to enhance a culture of excellence in their lives. I encourage every son and daughter to continue pursuing their dreams, for the future is full of opportunities for those who prepare for it with determination and dedication.”

She added, “The art exhibition will continue for five days at Hazm Mall, and we expect it to have a significant impact on the community. Through the participation of artists and school students, we aim to enhance communication and interaction among community members and light the paths of hope in the hearts of children and foster families.”

This event is expected to attract large number of visitors from various segments of society, reflecting Dreama Center’s commitment to fulfilling its vision of empowering orphans and providing the necessary support for them to achieve their full potential.

The Orphan Care Center 'Dreama' was established in 2002 in Qatar with the aim of providing care for orphans, ensuring their stability in foster families, and their integration into society.

The center operates under the umbrella of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, which in turn is affiliated with the Ministry of Social Development and Family. The center seeks to achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030 by supporting human, social, economic, and environmental development.

It has succeeded in developing its organisational approach over the years to meet the needs of orphans and achieve development. Social.

Since its establishment, Dreama has provided many varied services with continuous encouragement from the wise leadership in the country. These services aim to take care of the orphans and ensure their rights. The Dreama Center is also considered unique in its integrated services and policies that cover all care and empowerment requirements for orphans. The integrated team works with its various specializations to provide integrated care services for children to meet their needs in a family environment similar to the environment, in addition to developing their capabilities.
