Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Goodwood Festival presented by Visit Qatar continued with world-class racing action as the Visit Qatar Sussex Stakes (Group 1) and Qatar International Stakes brought together elite milers and Arabian horses.
The Visit Qatar Sussex Stakes saw a stellar line-up of elite milers compete in one of the festival’s standout races. The race that took place on the Goodwood Racecourse brought together a mix of rising three-year-old talents and seasoned Group 1 winners, making it one of the most anticipated contests of the festival, with Bow Echo claiming victory under Jockey Billy Loughnane, for Trainer George Boughey.
The trophy was presented by HE Saad Bin Ali Al-Kharji, Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Board of Directors of Visit Qatar, in the presence of Guest of Honour, Steve Harvey, Global Media Icon and Entrepreneur.
The Qatar International Stakes delivered a stunning display of talent and tradition, bringing together top-class contenders for one of the most anticipated Arabian races of the season. Held during the festival, the race culminated in a powerful performance by RB Kingmaker, who surged ahead to claim first place under Jockey Christophe Soumillon, for Trainer Mme J F Bernard.
The trophies were presented by HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani, Qatar's ambassador to the United Kingdom, Ireland and Iceland, in the presence of Guest of Honour, Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al-Mawlawi, CEO of Visit Qatar.
Momentum continues to build at the Qatar Goodwood Festival presented by Visit Qatar, with several major races still on the card. Fans can look forward to top-level action from the Qatar Nassau Stakes and the King George Qatar Stakes, before the curtain falls with the Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes on the final day.
