Doha, Qatar: President of the Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’, HE Eng. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Meer, conducted an inspection visit to the project for the construction of 14 new schools that has reached approximately 80% completion.
The schools are part of the second package of the Qatar Schools Development Program through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
During the visit, Eng Al Meer reviewed the progress of construction works and the project's implementation phases. He also received a briefing on the latest developments and the advanced construction technologies being utilized, including 3D printing and modular construction techniques based on prefabricated structural systems and building modules.
The project, valued at approximately QR4.5 billion, includes the construction of 14 schools across 10 strategic areas throughout Qatar: Muaither, Al Gharrafa, Al Wajbah, Al Thumama, Ain Khaled, Al Aziziyah, Al Meshaf, Rawdat Rashid, Al Sakhama, and Rawdat Al Hamama, with a combined capacity of more than 10,000 students.
The Ashghal President directed the project team to complete the remaining works according to the approved schedule, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the same high standards of quality, efficiency, and commitment.
He affirmed that the Authority is committed to delivering more projects through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, contributing to strengthening the role of the private sector and expanding its participation in implementing national development projects, in line with the objectives of the Third National Development Strategy (2024–2030), which aims to increase private sector participation in Qatar's development journey.
“The Authority also places great emphasis on adopting the latest innovations, advanced engineering solutions, and modern construction technologies across its projects to keep pace with global developments in the construction sector, enhance delivery efficiency, promote sustainability, and ensure the delivery of high-quality infrastructure that meets the country's current and future development needs.", he added.
