Doha: The Foreign Ministry expressed Qatar’s support to efforts for a successful Libyan dialogue under the auspices of the UN, leading to a national reconciliation government.
In a statement, Ambassador Saad bin Ali Hilal Al Mohannadi, Director, Arab Affairs Department, said Qatar supports a political solution to achieve national reconciliation through dialogue leading to the formation of a national unity government to end the crisis.
He called on all parties to sign the final agreement submitted by the UN as a good compromise that meets aspirations of the people and guarantees Libya’s unity.
He said Qatar welcomes resumption of national dialogue in the Moroccan city of Skhirat. He expressed Qatar’s concern over increasing violence in Libya and beyond its borders, referring to the deterioration of the economic and humanitarian situation. Qatar will spare no effort to support the Libyan people, he said, stressing Qatar’s solidarity with Libya and its people. QNA
