Master CC, United Challengers win

Doha: Master Cricket Club defeated Q Tickets XI by 72 runs while United Challengers registered a six-wicket win over Garvey Lions in the West End Park Challenge Cup on Friday night.
In the first match, Q Tickets XI won the toss and opted to field in the Twenty20 tournament.
Master CC sent to bat scored 190/9 in their alloted overs.
Mohd Khadeer top scored with 60 runs.
Useful contribution came from Omar Swadi, who scored 36 runs in 20 balls.
In reply, Q Tickets XI could score only 125 all out in 18.5 overs.
Kapila (20) and Tushar (18) top scored for the losers.
Master’s Omar Swadi, with three wickets for 19 runs and Chamran, two wickets for 15 runs were shone for the winners.
Khadeer of Master CC won the man-of-the-match award.
In the second match, Garvey Lions chose to bat and totaled 91 runs all out in 19.4 overs. Muhammad Nisham (25) and Pio Jayamaha (17) top scored for Garvey Lions. For Challenger’s Rasmi and Sandeep  captured two wickets each. United Challengers made short work of the target reaching it in just 13.2 overs losing four wickets.
Denzil (23), Imran (24) and Rasmi (13) shone with the bat for the winners. Sumidha and Duminda took wickets each.
The Challenge Cup will end on July 5.
Sixteen teams from the Qatar Cricket Association B and C Divisions are participating the inaugural tournament.  The Ramadan Tournament will start on July 6. 12 teams - ten from the QCA  A Division and the Challenge Cup finalists will be competing.  The Ramadan Tournament will have four overseas players permitted per squad. the winners will  QR50,000 and the runners up QR25,000.
Matches begin daily at 7:00pm and entry is free for the public.
