Baghdad: Qatari Foreign Minister H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah arrived here yesterday on an official visit. During the visit, Dr Al Attiyah is scheduled to meet a number of Iraqi government officials to discuss relations between Qatar and Iraq, in addition to the latest developments in the region.
Dr Al Attiyah was received on arrival at Baghdad International Airport by Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim Al Jaafari.
Earlier, the Foreign Minister met Yemeni Foreign Minister Riyad Yassin on the sidelines of the 24th session of the Foreign Ministers Council of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Kuwait.
During the meeting they discussed relations between Qatar and Yemen and the latest developments in Yemen.
Dr Al Attiyah underlined the need for dialogue among the Yemeni parties to reach a political solution.
Dr Al Attiyah also met Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra, Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister Hussain Amir Abdul Lahyan, Afghan Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani and the foreign ministers of Gambia and Maldives, Neneh Macdouall-Gaye and Dunya Maumoon, respectively, on the sidelines of the OIC meeting.QNA
