Doha: The seventh meeting of interior undersecretaries of GCC member states concluded here yesterday.
The Director General of Public Security Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi chaired the meeting which discussed a number of topics related to promoting security partnership and cooperation between the GCC countries. Major General Al Khulaifi stressed the importance of activating cooperation between the GCC countries and the exchange of experiences between their security services to confront all possible and expected threats to Gulf societies.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia Dr Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Salem extended thanks to Qatar for hosting the meeting and for the good organisation and preparation.
Major General Al Khulaifi said that the results and recommendations of the meeting will be referred to the GCC interior ministers’ consultative meeting today. He said that the risks and repercussions facing the Gulf States due to the situation in the region require a greater deal of caution and prudence by the security services in the GCC states.
