Doha, Qatar: Businesses operating in Qatar have responded proactively to supply chain disruptions caused by regional challenges, an industry expert has said.

Speaking to The Peninsula, Shamseer Hamza, CEO of Address Gateway Qatar, noted that many companies have diversified their supplier networks, increased local sourcing and forged strategic partnerships across the region and beyond.

He described these measures as “practical and forward-looking”, helping firms build greater resilience while keeping growth plans on track.

“Government policies and institutional support have played a pivotal role in sustaining business confidence,” Hamza noted. “Qatar’s leadership has maintained stable regulations and continued to introduce measures that support the private sector, ensuring the business community feels backed at the highest level.” He added that investor-friendly regulations and consistent policy direction have enabled businesses to navigate the current phase with greater assurance.

Hamza emphasised that Qatar’s business ecosystem continues to show remarkable strength and stability despite the broader geopolitical environment. He painted a picture of cautious optimism, highlighting that the country’s clear regulatory frameworks, investor-friendly policies and long-term vision under Qatar National Vision 2030 remain firmly in place.

New company formations are proceeding at a healthy pace, especially in sectors aligned with economic diversification such as services, technology and trade.

“Qatar has consistently demonstrated its ability to maintain continuity in economic activity even during challenging times,” Hamza said. “Entrepreneurs are focusing on long-term opportunities rather than short-term uncertainties. The sentiment remains cautiously optimistic, supported by a fundamentally robust business environment.” While regional tensions have led some investors to adopt a more cautious approach, with slightly longer decision cycles and increased focus on risk assessment, Qatar continues to enjoy strong investor confidence.

Strategic sectors including logistics, energy services, digital solutions and infrastructure support services remain particularly attractive to both local and foreign investors.

“Foreign investment trends reflect a measured approach, yet Qatar’s fundamentals keep it ahead as a preferred destination,” Hamza added. “Investors recognise the stability and clarity that the country offers, which significantly contributes to the ease of doing business here.” He pointed to a clear shift in the types of businesses being registered, with growing interest in digital services, e-commerce platforms, logistics operations and ventures that promote self-sufficiency and local production. These developments align closely with the nation’s diversification goals.

“Companies that contribute to local value creation and technological advancement are seeing heightened registration activity,” Hamza explained. “This shift reflects both market demand and the supportive ecosystem Qatar has cultivated.” On risk mitigation strategies, Hamza said clients of Address Gateway Qatar are prioritising operational efficiency, adopting phased expansion plans and strengthening local partnerships. These steps help businesses manage uncertainties while positioning themselves strongly for future growth.

“Risk mitigation today is less about retreat and more about smart, sustainable positioning,” he noted. “Our clients focus on building agility and deepening roots within Qatar’s economy.”

Hamza highlighted several key advantages that make Qatar appealing to international investors: political stability, world-class infrastructure, a transparent regulatory environment and its strategic location as a gateway to the wider region. “From company formation to operational setup, the processes are streamlined and predictable,” Hamza stated. “Address Gateway Qatar assists clients in leveraging these advantages, ensuring smooth entry and sustained success in the market.”
