Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has announced the release of a new scholarly publication titled “Selected Works of Sheikh Mohammed bin Mani’,” now available in an electronic format through the Ministry’s official website.
The publication represents a significant contribution to preserving Qatar’s scholarly heritage in the fields of Islamic creed, jurisprudence, and ethics.
The book highlights the intellectual legacy of Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Mani’, one of Qatar’s prominent scholars, showcasing his contributions to Islamic sciences. The work has been carefully compiled, verified, and organised by researcher Abdulilah bin Othman Al-Shaya, who also provided a concise biography of the author as part of ongoing efforts to revive and promote the works of distinguished scholars.
The publication was issued by the Ministry with support from the Waqf Fund for Scientific and Cultural Development under the General Directorate of Endowments. The fund sponsored the printing of the book in line with donors’ stipulations to support beneficial publications, including works related to the holy Qur’an, the Prophetic Sunnah, and the broader dissemination of knowledge. This initiative underscores the vital role of endowments in advancing cultural, scientific, and religious life within the community.
The Department of Islamic Affairs, responsible for implementing endowment conditions and overseeing publication, emphasized its commitment to selecting authoritative works across Islamic disciplines and producing them to the highest standards. Each year, the department publishes dozens of volumes aimed at benefiting students, researchers, and the wider public. The book itself brings together a selection of Sheikh Ibn Mani’s writings, covering diverse topics such as theology, jurisprudence, and ethics.
These include works on Islamic belief, responses to scholarly inquiries, doctrinal explanations, and discussions addressing key theological and legal issues. The compilation has been methodically arranged to reflect the breadth of the author’s scholarship and depth of analysis.
The significance of the publication lies in its consolidation of previously scattered treatises into a single, cohesive volume, allowing readers to better understand the author’s methodology and approach to reasoning and evidence. The edition is distinguished by its rigorous academic verification, detailed annotations, contextual explanations, and clear presentation, making it a valuable resource for both specialists and general readers.
The Ministry has made the book available online for easy access. Printed copies are also available for eligible recipients, including postgraduate students in Sharia, institutions, and cultural libraries, through the Ministry’s book distribution section. The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to supporting researchers and graduate students by providing them with valuable collections of foundational Islamic texts, while continuing to expand access to knowledge both within Qatar and internationally.
