Qatar Charity (QC)’s Taif project has won “Qatar for Sustainability” award for the category of non-governmental sustainability initiatives organised by Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC) at Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.
The result of the contest was announced on the sidelines of the activities of Qatar Green Building and Qatar Sustainability Week, which was held recently.
Taif project means collecting in-kind donations and selling them in project auction at nominal prices and allocate all revenues for QC humanitarian projects inside and outside the country. "QC is happy to win Qatar Award for Sustainability for the project “Taif” that draws attention to the importance of overabundant things, which can be used in humanitarian projects of benefit to employees and people with limited income," said Abdul Rahman Al Kuwari, Director of in-kind donations department.
Meanwhile, QC handed over a number of housing units to the poor families in Mali as part of its intervention to combat poverty and develop community.
