US to continue efforts to pursue GCC unity: Tillerson

Geneva:  US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson (pictured), reiterated that Washington will continue its efforts to open lines of communication to pursue the Gulf unity.
In remarks he made at the US mission to the UN in Geneva, Tillerson reminded with the US President Donald Trump’s statement in which he expressed his willingness to assist in any mediation efforts to resolve the Gulf crisis.
Tillerson stressed that the “The GCC is strongest when it is united”, expressing his country’s concern over the “far-reaching consequences of the Gulf dispute”. He stressed that his country “continues to work closely with Qatar and our Gulf partners to crack down on terrorists and those who finance them.”
“All of our Gulf partners are putting forward a renewed effort to counterterrorism. We must expand those efforts through greater cooperation, coordination, and information-sharing among all,” Tillerson said.
