Doha, Qatar: Diabetes Qatar held a training programme for its volunteers on Saturday. The programme brought together 95 volunteers and aimed to prepare them to take part in its awareness and community activities. The programme began with an introductory workshop delivered by Diabetes Qatar on diabetes and the programmes it offers to different groups in the community. Participants also learned how volunteers can support these activities and help share health information with the public.
The programme included a workshop titled “Teamwork and Human Communication in a Community Care Setting”, delivered by Meer Al Mustaqbal Center for Administrative Training and Consultancy. Saeed Al Eida presented the workshop in Arabic, while Afraa Al Nuaimi presented it in English. The session focused on teamwork and effective, considerate communication with members of the community.
Executive Director of Diabetes Qatar, Dr Abdullah Al Hamaq said: “Volunteers play an important role in helping Diabetes Qatar reach people across the community and raise awareness of diabetes. We are committed to giving them the knowledge and skills they need to carry out their roles with confidence.”
