Mowasalat is gearing up to increase its resources with respect to fleet, operation size, drivers, staffing, adopting latest training programs and embracing latest technology.
The company is expanding its operations in phases to attain the target of Qatar to successfully deliver FIFA 2022.
Mowasalat’s all-round preparation of resources to contribute to leave a legacy of large events.
One major aspect of Preparation of Drivers for Large Events Training Program is being addressed by Karwa Driving School. Mowasalat’s Karwa Driving School (KDS) is one of the major and most advanced driving schools in Qatar, which is licensed by the Traffic Department of the Ministry of Interior. In addition, KDS is accredited with substantial number of certificates, which are approved in most of the globe.
“Karwa Driving School is equipped with modern training equipment & simulators which can train & deliver an average total 490 trainees per day providing license for light vehicle, Qatar driving license, international driving license, equipment, trailers & buses, in addition to professional courses which include defensive driving and ADR/IRU CPC on safe loading & cargo securing and many other courses such as premium taxi driver courses, taxi driver refreshment courses, and many other, a total of about 63 courses. Additionally, we have special arrangements with Qatar Port Authority for CPC training courses for all truck drivers who enter the Port as part of Qatar ports safety standards,” said Nasser bin Mohammed Al Malki, Chairman, Mowasalat.
“Since 2006, Karwa Driving School has added and updated many of the training programmes, including the new program that contains specialized modules for training drivers to handle major international events, forums and conferences of all kinds, which are hosted in Qatar, as part of the country’s preparations to host FIFA World Cup 2022, under the umbrella of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, and the implementation of the National Vision 2030” added Al Malki.
In this context, Khalid Nasser Al Hail, Mowasalat Managing Director & CEO said, “Karwa Driving School upgrades and updates itself constantly with training programs duly accredited by specialist international organizations. Our ‘Preparation of Drivers for Large Events’ training programme is accredited by Maybo UK, who have trained our trainers in delivering this specialized program to our drivers”.
He added: “KDS played a significant role and supported for the timely opening of Hamad Port by H H the Emir of Qatar, HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister and HE the Minister of Transport and Communications . Prior to opening Hamad port received three giant ships and KDS team was involved in intensive activities of unloading of ships progressively and efficiently enabling the port to meet the expectations of the client’s schedule and paving the way for the gradual shift from Doha Port to Hamad port. The team was also engaged during the opening to drive out the vehicles and park them smoothly in the yard”.
Robert Makondo, Karwa Driving School Operations Manager, said: “The chairman of Maybo and his specialized training team visited to deliver this program to train some of our KDS trainers on Conflict Management & Physical Intervention. Upon the completion of each of the mentioned training programs, the participant trainees were given a certificate accredited worldwide, within their competence, and certified by Maybo UK”.
