Over 32,000 enjoy MoI Eid celebrations

A musical performance organised by the ministry as part of Eid Al Adha celebrations.

DOHA: Over 32,000 people,  including families and single workers, attended cultural and entertainment events organised by the Ministry of Interior for Indian, Sri Lankan, Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Nepalese communities and residents of Al Khor and Ras Laffan and areas across the country during Eid holidays. 
The ministry held six events during the three days of Eid Al Adha for workers and families in Doha, Al Wakrah and Al Khor. 
Programmes ended with events for the Bangladeshi community at Al Wakrah Indoor Stadium at Wakrah Sports Club on Saturday.
More than 2000 people from Bangladeshi community, including families, employees and workers, were present. Events included musical programmes, cultural performances, folklore shows and dances.
Events in Al Khor, Ras Laffan and Nepalese communities were held in the first and second days of Eid at Barwa Workers Sports Complex in Al Khor Industrial Area, attended by about 20,000 people.
Events for Indian community were held at MES Indian School on the first day of Eid, while Stafford Sri Lankan School hosted activities for Sri Lankan community. 
Over 4,000 people from states of India and other Asian countries attend Indian community celebrations and more than 2,000 Sri Lankans and other people from other Asian countries attended event for Sri Lankan community. 
Eid celebrations for the Pakistani community were staged at Al Wakrah Indoor Stadium on the second day of Eid and more than 4,000 members of the community took part. Community leaders and the general public expressed pleasure and gratitude to the ministry for the initiative for expatriate communities.
The Peninsula
