Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani attends the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers between Qatar and China at Al Janoub Arena yesterday. Secretary General of the Qatar Olympic Committee Jassim bin Rashid Al-Buenain is also present. The game carried special significance as it marked the start of the final-year countdown to the World Cup, which Qatar will host for the first time. It also marked the opening of Al Janoub Arena, which will host matches of the basketball showpiece.
