DOHA: Municipal inspectors in Al Rayyan have caught several illegally-partitioned villas in a crackdown that lasted a week. The drive was launched from August 18 and inspections were all conducted in the evenings.
A total of 79 violations were caught in the jurisdiction of Al Rayyan Municipality during the drive. Many of the violations included illegally-partitioned villas while others were structures that were built without licence and labour camps in residential areas.
Vide law number 15 of 2010, labour camps are banned in residential areas where families live.
In Wakrah, in the meanwhile, 191 violations have been caught so far this year and they also, arguably, included illegally-partitioned homes.
