Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced that a traffic diversion will be implemented on Lebaib Roundabout as part of development works for roads surrounding Lekhwiya Sports Club in Al Duhail.
The diversion will extend 200 meters into each of the four streets connected to the roundabout — Al Tarfa Street, Arab League Street and Al Duhail Street.
Diversion will be implemented starting tonight and traffic will be diverted to alternative roads adjacent to the work zone, which will consist of two lanes in each direction to serve traffic heading to and from Lebaib Roundabout.
Ashghal will install signage to notify motorists during work period. Speed limit will be reduced to 50kmph in each direction when approaching the work zone.
Ashghal urges all road users to abide by speed limits and traffic signs for their safety.
Partial closure
Ashghal also announced that a section of Al Khalidya Street will be closed.
The closure will be about 425 metre in length and will extend from the intersection with Al Hilal Street to the intersection of Al Khalidya Street with Al Mansoura Street.
The south-bound lane towards C-Ring Road will be closed while the north-bound lane in the direction of Al Mansoura Street will remain open.
The closure is needed to upgrade the sewage network in Al Najma in Doha.
A partial closure on the same street will also take place at the intersection with C-Ring Road at the entrance of Al Khaldiya Street north-bound in the direction of Al Mansoura Street.
Part of Al Saheb Bin Abbad Street in both directions and its access from Al Khalidya Street will be closed.
One direction on Al Canary Street off Al Khalidya Street will be closed in the direction towards Al Khalidya Street.
Also part of Al Sanaa Street in both directions will closed.
Closures start tomorrow and continues until September 14.
Road users can use alternative local roads in the area.
