This cooler is an ideal drink during Ramadan. Tamarind has many health benefits and it helps in cooling the body and also in digestion.

This recipe was send by one of our readers, Ofelia M Alberto, during an earlier recipe contest.

Very easy to make at home, do give it a try. Tamarind is available in most Asian supermarkets.

Ingredients:
100g tamarind flesh
120 ml sugar
30 ml honey
2.5 ml salt
720 ml water
Ice cubes or as you desire

Method:
Wash the tamarind flesh.
Place a pot of water over the heat until boil.
Put the tamarind flesh, sugar, honey and salt and mix well into hot water.
Remove from heat and leave until cool.
Strain through a colander and pour the liquid into a jug.
Pour in a glass with ice cubes and serve cool.
Or put in the fridge for 30 minutes then serve.
