UK based Steven Gerrard Academy (SGA) and Evolution Sports Qatar have teamed up to create the ultimate Talent ID Camp for players aged 14-18 who have future aspirations of playing football internationally, progressing into the professional game or simply taking their knowledge to the next level.
The tow-day camp is set to take place on Friday and Saturday, May 20 and 21 at Doha College’s state-of-the-art Al Wajba campus. The SGA camp will be headed up by former professional footballers Michael Wilde and Danny Harrison, who played in the UEFA Champions League. Harrison and Wilde will fly to Qatar from the UK to impart their wealth of knowledge to the young players in attendance.
Using the academy's sports science approach, players will enjoy cutting-edge practices on the pitch and off it, they will access workshops in nutrition, video analysis and strength and conditioning.
SGA Ambassador and current Premier League Manager Steven Gerrard said, “It’s important to say how proud I am to be involved. The main idea is to give young people a chance to further their skills as a footballer whilst working with top-level coaches. We want to give players a platform to grow while doing something they enjoy.”
Evolution Sports Academy Manager James Mwale said, “Evolution Sports are proud to team up with the Steven Gerrard Academy and LLS to bring this unique opportunity to Qatar. We strongly believe in providing the highest level of experiences and opportunities to help our young players progress and be the best they can be.
“Working with the highly experienced Talent ID coaches from the Steven Gerrard Academy, we will be able to create tangible pathways for talented young players here in
Qatar to be noticed by professional clubs Internationally.”
