Manila: An earthquake measuring 6.0 magnitude on the Richter scale struck on Wednesday Mindanao Island in the Philippines.
The German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 10 kilometers.
There have been no reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake so far. The Philippines is experiencing increasing volcanic and seismic activity, due to its location on the Pacific 'Ring of Fire,' where tectonic plates intersect.
In October 2013, a major earthquake measuring 7.1 magnitude, struck the Philippines, killing more than 220 persons
