Doha: The inspection procedures at Hamad International Airport does not take more than 2 to 3 minutes, said Captain Zayed Rashid Al Nuaimi, the inspection officer at the Airport Security Department.

He also said that the department uses latest inspection devices, as these help in enhancing the security and facilitate the movement of passengers.

“We keep pace with technological development and we have modern devices to detect all prohibited things, while screening hand-held bags or checked-in bags, in addition to personal inspection,” Al Nuaimi said speaking to Qatar Radio today.

Answering what is the most important advice for travellers, he made it clear that they should not carry other people's luggage, whose contents the person does not know and the authorities will treat him as being responsible for what is inside.
Passengers are also advised to reach ahead of time at the airport to avoid delays, he added.

During security checks, passengers are requested to ensure that they are not carrying any prohibited items such as liquids, aerosols and gels and to pack liquid containers in a clear, resealable plastic bag with 100ml or less content.

He also added that electronic items larger than mobile phones need to be removed from bags and placed in trays for X-ray screening.
