Doha: The third round of the U-19 football league kicks off on Friday and eight matches will take place.
The second round of the league concluded on Sunday and saw Al Wakrah beat Al Sailiya 2-0, Muaither beat Al Shamal 2-1, Al Rayyan overcome Qatar SC 3-0, and Al Markhiya defeat Al Ahli 1-0.
In addition, Al Arabi beat Al Duhail 3-0, Umm Salal narrowly beat Al Shahaniya 1-0, while Al Gharafa routed Al Khor 7-0 and Al Sadd registered the round’s biggest win in a 9-0 thumping of Al Kharaitiyat.
The results mean Al Gharafa are top of the league on six points, the same toll that Al Sadd, Al Rayyan and Al Arabi have but Al Gharafa are on top thanks to the goal difference.
Al Shahaniya are fifth on four points ahead of Al Markhiya on goal difference.
Al Duhail, Umm Salal, Al Wakrah and Muaither are seventh to 10th on three points with goal difference separating them.
Qatar SC and Al Khor are 11th and 12th, while the Al Ahli and Mesaimeer are without points in 13th and 14th, having played one game. Al Sailiya, Al Shamal and Al Kharaitiyat are the top three sides, also without points.
Al Gharafa’s Ali Al Omari is the league’s top scorer on 14 strikes ahead of Qatar SC’s Rashid Al Barashidi on 11, while Muaither’s Ibrahim Al Sadiq and Al Sadd’s Rami Suhail follow with eight goals.
