The Center for Theater Affairs, affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Sports, yesterday announced the organisation of a number of events and theatrical days bringing together the Sultanate of Oman, Sudan and India, which will run from July 28 to August 31.
Bridge Qatar, an Indian committee working within the Indian community residing in Qatar, in cooperation with the Center for Theater Affairs, organises the cultural show ‘ Qatar: Our Second Home.....A Celebration and Solidarity” tomorrow.
The event, in which a number of resident Indian artists take part, comes to show solidarity with Qatar against the siege imposed by a number of Gulf countries.
Salah Al Mulla, Director of the Center for Theater Affairs at the Ministry of Culture and Sports, said in a press conference held at Qatar National Theater that the Indian community embodies through this cultural event the values of love, loyalty and solidarity like other communities.
He stressed the Center’s support through the Ministry of Culture and Sports of theatrical activities of communities in Qatar National Theater, noting that the cultural process is not limited to a specific culture or nationality. “We are here for Qatar and for Humanity,’” he said.
On the establishment of communities theatre festival in the future, the Director of the Center for Theater Affairs said the aim at the current stage is to focus on the production of artistic shows and maintain creative continuity.Organising a festival would be a culmination for these steps, Al Mulla said, calling on the communities to present their ideas and perceptions in order to pave the way for an interaction between them and local theater groups.
